About me
Currently I am a busy mother to 2 young boys. Over the years I have been pushed to my limits and beyond. I have accumulated tips and tools to help alleviate times of stress and regain a sense of balance. I really wanted to share these, so came up with an 8-week course to create a supportive and nurturing environment to allow for self-enquiry and rejuvenation. I have since developed more workshops. For more info, click here.

In 2016 I was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue, which took me on a journey of self enquiry and discovery. From this, I developed a huge passion for well-being, stress management, the nervous system, brain development and communication. These interests drive me to constantly research and learn about these areas and make this information accessible to anyone suffering from symptoms of stress and burnout. I attend workshops, seminars and retreats on various modalities/topics including yoga, meditation, NVC, the nervous system, feldenkrais, dancing and African drumming. I have been regularly practicing NVC (Non Violent Communication aka Compassionate/Conscious Communication originally developed by Marshall Rosenburg) and have set up a practice group at Victory Community Centre and use ideas based on NVC principles in my workshops with the support of Anna Groves (NVC trainer/facilitator). I also draw on my own practice and knowledge of yoga, movement and mindfulness as a basis in my facilitation.

I consider being an adult, a mother and wife, an ongoing roller-coaster learning experience of a lifetime, which has helped me gain some very practical and real life-saving tools along the way . Along side this my formal qualifications have been diverse and expansive in many different ways over the years. They include a a Bachelor in Audio Production (SIT/SAE) and a Diploma in Dance Performance (NZSD). As well as facilitating & developing Nourish My Self workshops since July 2017, I have worked as a volunteer at my local school, kindergartens and community centres. Voluntary work includes teaching creative movement classes to primary school aged children, teaching yoga and cooking to pre-school and primary school aged children, facilitating holistic well-being workshops for adults and assisting at my local summer community event, Lark In The Park. Most recently I have been asked to teach a meditation/stretch and team building class to the staff at Victory Community Centre. I was the dance director for Samba de Sol for 2 years (2011-2013). I taught yoga for Noreen McDonald at the Natural Living studio at Founders Park. Other professional experience includes working as a DJ, reporter, performing artist, dance teacher, swim instructor and pre-school teacher aide. Whew, no wonder I ended up with adrenal fatigue!

Nourish My Self

Are you…

• Lacking motivation?
• Overwhelmed? • Exhausted?
• Burnt out?
• Struggling with mood swings/energy levels?
• Uninspired?
• Struggling to find joy in life?
• Living with adrenal fatigue?

Nourish My Self is an 8 week course, which provides participants with the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate.
Each 2 hour session creates a supportive and understanding environment for people to explore their needs and figure out what works best to create more balance and calm in their life. This is done through relaxation techniques and simple written tasks.
This course works well over 8 weeks as participants have time to 'soak it up, let it sink in,' relax and practice with support. However 'Nourish My Self' can be altered to suit almost any schedule. Ideal for team-building and self-management skills to improve general well-being of staff/collaborative groups.
The overall aim is for participants to leave with an inner awareness, self- management skills and a tool kit of techniques and ideas to encourage more balance in everyday life.
